Kings Finals 2024

Date - 27th April 2024.

Location - Gloucester Ski Slope

Afterparty - Clock Factory - Dress to impress

Kings Finals is the culmination of the Kings Ski season and is a little bit different to our regional rounds. Finals takes place over the course of an entire day and includes a lot more than your usual round.

On the racing side all teams who have qualified or been given wildcards will compete in our patented duals slalom races until one team takes home the overall victory. On top of this all competitors are entered into individual timed slalom take takes place over the full length of the main Gloucester slope.

On the vibe side we will have DJs playing music on the side of the slope throughout the day along with food and drinks available. There’ll also be entertainment for us officials as we host a nautical ship themed competition each university can compete in, as well as whatever other competitions we come up with.

Once competitions are all over (6-7pm) - Prizegiving will be hosted at the Clock Factory in Bristol. So if you want your competitors to bask in their glory to the amazement of all make sure you get them there. Afterparty will be starting roughly 9-10pm giving everyone plenty of time to get from Gloucester to Bristol, get food, get bevved & get yourself there. Theme for the night will be Dress to Impress.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Can anyone race at Kings Finals?

A: Competitor entry to Finals is dependent on either having qualified through the Kings season or at the discretion of the league heads through a wildcard (see below).

Q: What’s a Wildcard ?

A: A wildcard entry is an entry to Kings Finals for any teams that haven’t qualified through the standard kings regional season. If you’d like to come to Finals, but didn’t qualify get your race captain to fill in the Wildcard Form.

Q: Are people able to race individually and in teams?

A: Yes! Racers will have the chance to race in both individual timed run and duals, but there is some organising from captains required on the day, as they can't do their run while their duals racing is going on (this is most tricky for female skiers who are in ladies and mixed teams). Please keep an eye on the schedule above and we will publish some more direct guidance on this closer to the event.
