Kings doesn’t exist without it’s officials!

Kings are totally dependent on our volunteers to keep the club running. Everyone involved with the club, from our Committee, to our League Heads, to our Officials are all volunteers. Without you, we don’t have a club!

How do I get involved?

We are constantly on the look out for more officials, across all of our regions (Northern, Midlands, Western & Southern). Whether you’re a recent university graduate, someone on placement year, returning seasonnaire, or just a recovering dry-slope fiend, we want to hear from you!

To get involved - fill out the form on this page, and we’ll contact you!

How does Kings support its officials?

  • Expenses - Our officials are never out of pocket supporting our events. We expense all travel to and from events, including a food allowance, and accommodation (where appropriate).

  • Finals - Officials who support us for 1 or more rounds over a year can join us for Finals. Kings sponsor a meal before the Kings AGM, and two nights accommodation over the Finals weekend.

  • Jacket - We provide ski jackets to all our officials for supporting an event. These are for established officials to keep, and we typically refresh jackets every ~3 years.

  • Training - We are able to offer Snowsports England Official training & insurance through this scheme.

What does being an official involve?

Our officials help us run our events from start to finish. At a round, working with your League Head and your other officials, you might expect to do a number of things:

  • Work with team captains for registration

  • Deliver the captains brief, explaining race rules

  • Constructing racer groups & running order

  • Marshalling start gate, starting races and monitoring for false starts

  • Flagging racers & confirming race results

  • Prize giving at end of events
